Wayne spent the weekend in Adelaide. He went up for the Australian windmill contractors (SA branch) meeting. This is a great time to connect up with other contractors as well as learn more about the latest developments in windmills.

One of the surprising things that come up was that to put a windmill stand up you need a builders license. Luckily for you and us we have a builders license. No one had picked up on this small piece of legislation. Many contractors are now chasing for their license.

Another point was that when you hire a contractor you need to insure that they have the correct license for doing the job. If something does go wrong then you will be held at least partial responsible for the outcome.

Here a Limestone Coast Maintenance we do everything within our power to insure that we have the correct licenses and spend time evaluating all the risks involved with all our jobs so that the best possible out come will be achieved by us to give you the customer the best possible result. This is why we spend time on being involved in industry groups like the Australian Windmill Contractors as well as extra training.

Why use a licensed handyman? I hope the following points below will answer some of your questions.

  • We have had to prove to a higher authority through strict guidelines that we have not only the knowledge, but the skills to complete the job
  • We adhere to strict OHS &W guidelines
  • We have insurance. Although this may not be high on your list of priorities at the time, but if a ladder fell through your lounge room window and damaged your new flat screen TV you would be grateful we had insurance!
  • Training! We have to complete additional training to compel with the law
Knowledge of building codes. As part of our license we need to keep up with the latest building codes

Varcoe Windmills

Why do we recommed and use Varcoe windmills? We beleive these are one of the best mills available out in the market. Their price is very competitve with other brands of windmills. The parts for these mills are readly available as well as an afforable price. Many other mills, it is become increasly difficult to access spare parts, even if mills are only a few years old. Our expereince shows that Varcoe mills run for years with very little promblems, as long as they are regularly serviced.
